Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £41,399 and £50,637 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Faculty Lead to join our Sixth Forms department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Faculty Lead, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
Faculty Leadership & Strategic Contribution – Act as a senior member of the extended leadership team, supporting SLT to lead, promote and develop The Bedford Sixth Form in line with TBCG strategy and A Level vision.
Teaching, Learning & Student Outcomes – Drive outstanding student progress and achievement across faculty subjects through rigorous quality assurance, data‑led intervention, enrichment and a minimum 10‑hour teaching commitment.
Curriculum Planning & Quality Improvement – Lead curriculum planning and continuous improvement, ensuring high‑quality schemes of work, effective assessment practices, strong value‑added outcomes and alignment with post‑18 destinations.
Staff Management & Performance Culture – Line manage subject staff through clear expectations, coaching, appraisal and succession planning, fostering a high‑performing culture where staff and students thrive.
Governance, Compliance & College Contribution – Ensure compliance with safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and College policies, manage resources effectively, support recruitment and marketing, and contribute to college‑wide duties, events and examinations.
About you:
Qualifications & Professional Credibility – Degree‑qualified with PGCE (or equivalent), strong record of recent CPD, and deep knowledge of Post‑16 and Sixth Form education, including A Level accountability and progress measures.
A Level Leadership & Quality Improvement – Proven experience leading and improving A Level provision, implementing effective improvement strategies that raise retention, achievement and student outcomes.
Outstanding Teaching & Educational Values – Recent experience as an outstanding A Level practitioner, with high expectations of students and staff, strong commitment to education values and a relentless focus on improvement.
Strategic Leadership, Data & People Management – Excellent leadership and people‑management skills, able to analyse and use data effectively, manage projects, make sound decisions and influence at all levels in a fast‑paced environment.
Professional Practice, Safeguarding & Flexibility – High integrity, attention to detail and confidentiality, committed to Equality & Diversity, safeguarding and health & safety, with flexibility to travel across campuses and adapt working hours as required.
