Salary is in line with National Pay Scales plus TLR 1b allowance £10,614 pa. Required from September 2018.
At all times our Faculty emphasis is on the importance of the acquisition of a breadth of subject knowledge and understanding of design. Critical understanding, exploration, and the use of ICT and the development of independent learning are a central part of our teaching. The creation of the Design Faculty focused on the sharing of expertise, resources and staff across the different subjects to create new opportunities for learning. We truly believe that the importance placed on the acquisition of highly developed design, and practical skills for the production of quality outcomes, with an awareness of the world of creative and industrial practices, is fundamental to our students’ success!
With demonstrated leadership skills, you will provide professional leadership and management for the Faculty - to secure the highest quality teaching and learning, effective use of resources, and drive continually improving standards of achievement for all students. You will be required to teach Art, Design & Photography up to KS5.

Exam results at HGS and within the Design Faculty are very good: at GCSE in Art & Design 54% achieved A*-A, 95% A*-C; In Design & Technology and Food Technology, 89% achieved A* -C, and in Product Design 83% achieved A-C. At A-Level: 47% achieve A*-B, and 69% A*-C in Art & Design; Photography achieved 60% A*-B, 93% A*-C; and Product Design students achieved 60% A*-B grades.
