We are looking for a well-qualified and successful Humanities Teacher who is aspiring to lead their own Faculty. This post is suitable for candidates who have a successful track record in delivering Humanities outcomes, have experience within Humanities or a wider school role.  Excellent professional development and support is available from the Trust Directors for Humanities subjects and within the Trust networks.

The Redhill Academy is an outstanding, over-subscribed 11-18 academy and part of the Redhill Academy Trust. The Trust is a regional teaching school hub and as such teachers at the Academy have access to excellent CPD opportunities and the chance to work alongside other high performing schools in the region. The school is friendly and forward-looking, and determined to build on the high standards we currently achieve.

For a discussion about the role, please contact Lynsey Wilkinson, Assistant Headteacher on the academy telephone number.

At The Redhill Academy we have four principles that guide everything we do:

 ◦ High expectations of all students

◦ Valuing and celebrating academic achievement

◦ Outstanding teaching for all students

◦ Widening students’ experiences through a range of extra-curricular activities including sports and the performing arts

Redhill was the first secondary school in Nottinghamshire to gain an “outstanding” Ofsted rating for the quality of teaching. This has now been achieved twice in succession.  At our most recent inspection (2013), Ofsted judged that “teaching is outstanding” and that “during the inspection … the teaching observed was consistently effective in capturing students’ interest and engagement”.  Our students were praised for behaving ”extremely well in lessons and around the academy site” and for being “calm, considerate and courteous at all times”.  The inspectors also found that “students are proud of their academy”, which to me is probably the sentence in the report that says most about what we try and do here at Redhill.
