    The successful candidate will:

  •  Be passionate about supporting young people to help them remove barriers to learning
  • Be able to build effective and supportive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and other agencies in order to secure the best life chances for our pupils
  • Be experienced in working with young people in a school or other relevant setting

  • Support from a forward thinking Pastoral Team working across the school

  • A committed Governing Body and supportive parents/carers

The role offers a great deal of variety with ample opportunity for the post holder to use their own initiative. The ability to work as part of a team is essential, as are excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a sound knowledge of IT and an ability to prioritise workload.

As this post involves a great deal of contact with pupils, staff, visitors and parents, it is important that candidates possess excellent communication skills; maintaining confidentiality at all times will be essential.

We offer a warm and welcoming school community and staff wellbeing is a priority.

Swanwick School and Sports College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and young people and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment; we fully support the principles and practice of the publication “Keeping Children Safe in Education”.
