Here at Westfield school we are looking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic, reliable and flexible Family Support Worker to work with parents and families, aiming to improve our children's achievements in school.
The successful candidate will have the resilience and desire to support children, ensuring that they have full access to educational opportunities and are able to overcome any barriers.
They will need to have the following personal attributes:-
- be a team player with a positive attitude and a sense of humour.
- be a reflective person, who is able to show initiative to enhance children’s
learning.
- firmly believe that every child can be successful in learning.
The main purpose of the role is:-
To provide advice, support and guidance to parents, helping to promote positive care and parenting skills.
To work closely with other agencies and the local community to promote
collaborative working.
To support vulnerable families by attending relevant meetings.
Investigate the circumstance behind absence or investigate the
circumstances contributing to the non attendance
To provide personal, social and emotional support to children and families.
The role will include offering family support and identifying and addressing family needs.
Supporting the Head Teacher and working alongside the SLT, ensuring clear communications systems are adhered to.
Supporting pupils' social and emotional development, self esteem and behavioural needs.
This role will be reporting to the Head Teacher.
