This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful, hardworking team of
people and be part of an award winning school farm. We are looking for a
positive, enthusiastic and energetic member to lead our team.
For a full time role, you would need a Teaching Qualification looking at how the role could be brought into the classroom.
Woodchurch High School Farm is a dynamic educational resource. The farm is
located within the school grounds and is home to a range of animals including
pigs, alpacas, pygmy goats, rare breed sheep, tortoise, hens, ducks, rabbits,
guinea pigs and ducks. The purpose of the farm is to be a teaching resource for
BTEC Animal Care and other subjects across the school curriculum. In addition,
the farm plays a large role in being an environment that promotes positive
mental health. We also have a Forest School area, a Sensory Garden and a
Horticulture area. Each year we have a lambing season and in the summer the
children take part in agricultural show competitions such as the Cheshire
Show. Fundraising activities are also an important part of the farm activities
and each year we host a Christmas Fair and Summer Fair. No two days are the
same on the farm, which makes it an exciting and vibrant place to work.
