The role

Smart Teachers are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to support children who will be attending school for the first time as Non-English speakers. The ideal candidate would need to be able to speak Farsi/Pashto as the children are from Southern Asia. The role will be supporting a dedicated class to these children, with the intention to slowly integrate them into mainstream classroom settings. Classroom Assistants with a heavy background in supporting EAL learners will also be considered.

The school

This is a 1 form entry Primary school based in the heart of Camden, and close to excellent Central London transport links. The school seeks to provide a calm, safe and happy environment, with the emphasis being on well-being, diversity, and inclusion. Staff here will benefit from working in a brand-new school building, with each classroom having its own roof terrace. It’s last grading by OFSTED was ‘Good’.

Requirements

To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will:

• Have experience of working within Primary schools

• Experience, or a desire to support children with English as an additional language
