Durham School for Girls Doha is seeking to appoint flexible and inspirational  to join our High Performance learning team school for August 2021.


We are looking for an experienced HR Practitioner who can take on both a strategic as well as an operational role. You will run the Department ensuring recruitment and company culture is aligned with core values, that there is focus on staff performance and satisfaction and ensure that we have systems and processes in place to support and grow our organization.

Job brief

You will have a broad knowledge of human resources functions, from hiring and onboarding to employee compensation and evaluation. If you have a passion for HR, are familiar with labour law and are looking for a role where you can make your mark, this is the place to be.

Your role as an HR Practitioner will be far from one-dimensional. You’ll undertake a wide range of HR tasks, like coordinating oversees recruitment and relocation, organising housing and transport, planning training, administering employee benefits and leaves and crafting HR policies. You will use Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. And you will also act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics.

The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole.


Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes, including visa and Ministry related requirements.  Liaise with PRO for efficient entry of employees to Country.  

Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives. 

Lead HR projects like compensation plans revisions.  Organize annual employee performance reviews.

Administer compensation and benefit plans. Measure the effectiveness of our benefits programs and recommend improvements.

Implement functional HRMS and internal databases across all departments and locations.

Assist in development and implementation of company policies and procedures, including human resource policies.

Review and update our employment job descriptions, contracts, and agreements.

Track key HR metrics like cost per hire and retention rates. Gather and analyse data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates.

Manage internal communication projects (like job satisfaction surveys). Lead and advise on employee satisfaction surveys and help coordinate parent and student surveys with academic team. 

Ensure our recordkeeping and data processing procedures comply with GDPR requirements. Ensure compliance with labour regulations.  Liaise with Principal for full compliance with SCR.

Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise including conditions and accommodation issues working with the Head of Facilities.

Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form, including SCR liaising with Principal.

Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities.


Proven experience as an HR Generalist

Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures

Good knowledge of employment/labour laws

Outstanding knowledge of MS Office, Engage, will be a plus.

Excellent communication and people skills

Aptitude in problem-solving

Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach.

BSc/BA in Business administration or relevant field

Additional HR training will be a plus.
