We encourage you to read our website very carefully and familiarise yourself with our 2014 Ofsted report, our prospectus, candidate information pack and application form for the post. What will be clear to you is that you are applying to an extremely successful school and one with a decidedly clear ethos of achievement. The school’s results place it in the top 10% of schools nationally. We moved, in November 2012, into a brand new £80 million school. The school became an Academy in September 2013 and was recognised by the Department for Education as a Teaching School in 2015. The school is committed to developing its staff and to fostering the development of outstanding teaching. Its approach is one of personalised staff development and action planning delivered through coaching and modelling of good practice.
The Learning Support Assistant plays a key role in ensuring that pupils with special needs or disabilities get equal and fair access to outstanding education.
The position is to include the support of a Year 7 student who has been unable to attend school until now due to significant health issues, many of which still remain. The nature of this support will therefore include assisting the student with hygiene care related to her health issues, the tracking of the consumption of medication and support of the student in achieving her academic potential. Candidates will ideally have experience of working with those who have this or similar challenges; candidates must have an empathetic nature.
