The British College of Gava (www.bcgava.com) near Barcelona is seeking to appoint an exceptional full-time  teacher who is also able to offer Physical Education from KS 2 - 5 as well as another subject for KS3 (ideally, but not exclusively,  Science or ICT). The position is for September 2021. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our new purpose built, expanding school with exceptional facilities. Including a new Sports Hall, multi fitness gym and 3G football pitch.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and well organised individual with excellent subject knowledge who is able to inspire pupils to learn and has a desire and willingness to teach through the Primary and Secondary Schools. We will be introducing the IBDP programme from September 2021.

We are a growing school looking for potential leaders as well as excellent teachers. The successful candidate will be a highly committed team player with the drive, energy and passion to develop this forward-looking school. Applicants must be willing to lead by example and play a full part in the school’s pastoral care with wider teacher responsibilities.   The deadline for applications is Friday 19th February 2021. General responsibilities:

To plan and implement stimulating and engaging lessons throughout the entire school

Leading sports clubs after school, training sports teams and accompanying them to sports fixtures.

A specialty in a sport would be beneficial but is not a requirement.

The role will include planning and implementing outstanding lessons across all phases.

To respond constructively to pupils’ performance in class

To ensure the good behaviour of students and to develop within them positive attitudes towards peers, adults, sports equipment and property

To develop and maintain a good home-school partnership; to consult with and inform parents of their progress, attainment and attitudes of their children

To contribute to a whole school team approach

Teaching Specifications:

UK Trained with qualified teacher status - essential

Recognised Bachelor’s degree - essential

Recognised Masters or postgraduate qualification - desired

Secondary school teaching experience - essential

Knowledge and understanding of English National curriculum – essential

Right to work in the EU

Compensation:

28,000 - 31,000 euros gross per annum. Support finding accommodation and loans for deposit and advanced rent if required. Local health care is excellent. Also a  temporary 4 night stay in local hotel on arrival for those arriving from outside the area.
