We are looking to appoint an experienced Female Primary Physical Education Teacher to join our team in August 2023. The successful candidate will be working as part of the school's PE team ensuring high quality PE and swimming lessons are delivered to pupils from FS1 to Year 6. You will be expected to contribute fully to the schools co-curricular programme and lead a representative sports team. 

Key Job Accountabilities:

·     To ensure the curriculum is delivered in an exciting and challenging way and meets the needs of individual pupils.

·     Actively engage in Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

·     Comply with all Arcadia policies

·     Assist teachers in the development of children’s individual goals e.g. assist with planning

·     Familiarise themselves with and work towards the child’s IEP

·     Set up and maintain appropriate learning environments

·     Attend and participate in all required meetings

·     Support and oversee the IEP writing process. 

·     Maintain discretion and confidentiality where individual needs are concerned

·     Encourage open communication between themselves and the class teachers

·     Communicate professionally at all times with pupils, their families, outside agencies and all staff members

·     Collaborate with the Head of Inclusion (and line manager if different) to ensure the above criteria is met

Our ideal candidate will have:

·     A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Sports Science or equivalent.

·     Fully qualified teacher holding BEd, MEd, PGCE, QTS or equivalent in Physical Education.

·     Minimum of 2 years’ experience of teaching Physical Education.

·     Experience of teaching EYFS and Key Stage One Physical Education curriculum.

·     The ability to competently teach swimming (qualifications desirable).

·     Proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning.

·      To ensure the curriculum is delivered in a clear, exciting and challenging way that meets the needs of individual pupils.

·      To have responsibility and accountability for standards, expectations, planning for and assessment for timetabled classes.

·      Actively engage in Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

·      To be a positive team member, share and work collaboratively for the benefit of teaching and learning within the Physical Education team and the school as a whole.

·      To foster the development of a positive and supportive ethos for academic progress and social development.

·      To contribute to and participate in school events. 

·      To demonstrate a clear appreciation of the importance of parents, children, staff and governors as key stakeholders.

·      To uphold and demonstrate the ‘Arcadia Values’ in all dealings with children, parents, governors, other staff and visitors to the school and when visiting other schools.

·      To display a high standard of professional behaviour and integrity at all times, adhering to the line management structure whilst contributing to professional teams. 

·      To actively support the aims and endeavours of The Arcadia School. 

·      To be fully aware of the UAE National Agenda Targets for education and the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau framework.

·      To have a sound working knowledge of the National Primary Curriculum for England and current matters pertaining to pedagogy. 

·      To proactively support and contribute to initiatives and curriculum enhancements.  

·      To work within agreed timeframes and deadlines.

·      Manage a wide range of teams in fixtures across the working week and during weekends / holidays as required.

·      Ensure fair team selection, promoting good sporting behaviour and conduct.

·      Contribute to the social media accounts and liaise with the marketing department to celebrate success.
