The Chiltern Hills Academy invites applications for an exciting opportunity to join the staff of a successful, mixed 11-18 Church of England Academy in the Chiltern Hills, conveniently situated at the end of the London Underground Metropolitan Line.

The governing body wish to appoint a Finance and Business Manager to play a central role in helping to shape the vision and direction of the school over the next five to ten years. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, experienced, enthusiastic and dynamic professional responsible for ensuring that our finances and business management support teaching and learning. You will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of all aspects of school finance and managing an annual budget of £7 million.

In a varied and interesting role, you will be leading the finance and HR team, premises, health and safety, and ICT. Demonstrating that you are capable of providing strategic leadership, you will be making decisions that will impact the school and therefore we are seeking candidates that are comfortable working autonomously.

This is a challenging, varied and rewarding post in which no day is likely to be quite the same and which requires versatility, flexibility, initiative and a proven capacity for problem solving. Applicants must therefore be able to demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism and business acumen. This position is very much about the skills and qualities of the individual, and we therefore welcome applications from those who would like to develop their professional career and can demonstrate the ability to balance a diverse and busy workload with warmth, sensitivity and good humour.

We have been graded ‘good’ following our latest SIAMS inspection (March 2020). “The academy is highly inclusive, and tireless in supporting all of its pupils and staff. Because of this, each person is known, nurtured and inspired. This enables them to make strong progress from their starting points”. Our OFSTED inspection in February 2017 also judged the school as ‘good’ in all categories.

We have recently embarked on the next stage of our school development programme to accommodate growing numbers and add to our well-resourced teaching environment. Applicants are encouraged to use the quick apply button to apply for the role or to contact Mrs Jo Mistry, HR Administrator, with any questions:  jmistry@chacademy.co.uk.

Please visit our website for further information www.chilternhillsacademy.co.uk.

Closing date for applications: Midday on Monday 6 December 2021

Interview date: Tuesday 14 December 2021

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.  All staff appointments are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
