32.5 hours per week (4 or 5 days per week, to be arranged)

41 weeks per year (38 term time, 5 non pupil days & 2 weeks in the summer holiday)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our finance department in offering financial and administrative support to a wide range of stakeholders across the college and externally. The main focus of the role will be financial, alongside payroll administration; however there is always the opportunity to immerse yourself in the wider aspects of college life.

Hours of Work

Starting on Monday 6th January 2020 at the latest. Working 32.5 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, for 41 weeks per annum. Working days must include Monday and Friday.  Exact working hours to be agreed dependent on number of working days. You will be required to work 2 weeks at the end of the summer holiday in addition to term time and non-pupil days.

The Role

With no two days ever being the same, you will support staff, students and external organisations in all matters financial. In addition you will assist the College Manager in the administration of the monthly payroll system.  

This role would be a great opportunity for someone who has excellent attention to detail and is highly numerate, with previous knowledge of PSF considered an advantage.

Previous experience of working in a school and knowledge of SIMS would also be advantageous, but not essential. 

About You 

To be considered as the Finance Assistant, you will need: 

- Experience of Microsoft Office packages, including Word and Excel 

- Exceptional organisational and time management skills

- Excellent attention to details and numeracy skills 

- The ability to work to deadlines 

- An effective team player mentality

Clyst Vale Community College is a mixed, non-denominational academy secondary school and sixth form for students aged 11-18. It is located in Broadclyst, near Exeter, in the county of Devon, and has about 900 pupils.

The academy is operated by the Clyst Vale Academy Trust and is specialist in science, maths and ICT.
