We are looking for a values driven, motivated professional with an interest in developing their Finance skills, to join our transformational school, for a period of up to year Maternity Cover. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in finance and or the education sector. The successful applicant will report directly to the Finance Manager, and work closely with colleagues across the wider school community and its stakeholders. 

 

The candidate will have experience of working as part of a finance team, with experience of using PS Financial being highly advantageous. The successful candidate will be highly organised, process driven, and be able to provide finance administrative support in a number of key areas, including purchase ordering, invoicing and procurement.  Candidates with previous working experience in an educational setting are strongly encouraged to apply, however candidates with the equivalent experience gained in the commercial sector will also be considered.

Selection process will comprise a finance related task and panel interview.

This could not be a more exciting time to join the St Mark's family. Outcomes at the Academy at both Key Stage 4 are in the top 9% of all schools nationally with a Progress 8 Score of +0.65. In 2023 an impressive 60% of all A Levels were awarded A*-B grades with 30% of students securing a place at a Russell Group University.

St Mark's were inspected by Ofsted in March 2023.  The Academy performed exceptionally well in all areas, with particular reference made to expert curriculum design; transformational teaching and learning underpinned by the highest expectations; the extra-curricular offer and staff and pupil wellbeing. 

 The report states, “there is enough evidence of improved performance to suggest that the school could be judged outstanding if we were to carry out a graded (section 5) inspection now.”
