The Finance Assistant will provide a high quality financial processing, calculation and evaluation service to Stockport College, ensuring the timely and accurate input of financial data to the company’s financial systems as well as the calculation and reconciliation of financial information and to offer direct support to the Management Accountant, across all the major finance functions, e.g. Credit Control, Cash book, Petty Cash and Purchase Ledger but not necessarily assigned on an ongoing basis to a specific function.
You will process and input purchase orders, purchase invoices and supplier payments plus various other duties including credit control/debt collection and processing of credit notes, payments and refunds.
You will have GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above, or an equivalent Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy and will have achieved at least 1 -2 years experience in a finance office environment.
You must have gained work experience in Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger/Credit Control or Bank Reconciliation.
This position is subject to an enhanced criminal records check from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) and will be subject to satisfactory clearance of this check.
This position is classed as Regulated Activity, and is subject to an Adult & Child barring check.
