Outwood Grange Academies Trust places students at the centre of everything it does, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development. Our staff are dedicated to securing the best possible outcomes for every student.

As you will no doubt be aware, many public sector bodies are facing a tough financial period, and no school is immune from this.  However, at Outwood we have strong systems which are held in the highest regard by the Department for Education/Education Funding Agency, which enable the Finance and Operations departments to work hand-in-hand with executives to best deploy our resources and ensure the effective and efficient use of our funding.

To that end, we are seeking a Finance Assistant to join our trust, working primarily with our Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate financial acumen, good organisational skills and be a confident communicator.

Whilst it would be helpful if you had knowledge of this sector and experience of Finance, it would not be a barrier to any applicant, as we will offer significant support and training to help you excel in this role.  At the same time as learning a fantastic range of new skills in the Finance and Education sector, you will be given the opportunity to apply for funding to study an accountancy qualification such as AAT/CIMA.

The role will give you a great introduction to the Finance function and provide the opportunity to develop both analytical and professional skills that will be of benefit to you in your future career. You will have the opportunity to take on real responsibilities, work with senior colleagues and contribute to projects across several schools.

Details and application forms can be found on our website at www.outwood.com/vacancies

Closing date: Midday on Friday, 23 August 2019.

Interview date: Friday, 30 August 2019.

Please note that there is currently a job evaluation exercise being undertaken across the Trust. The salary advertised for this post is therefore subject to job evaluation and may change.

Outwood Grange Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.  All appointments will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.

Chief Executive Officer: Lee Wilson

Head of School: Jason Rhodes

We are an 11-16, Ofsted Good rated academy based in the market town of Stockton-on-Tees, in vibrant County Durham and have been a part of the Outwood family of schools since 2016.

We are proud that Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth is rated Good by Ofsted and are delighted that in its report, Ofsted noted ‘the school is being rapidly transformed through the highly effective actions of leaders and the trust’.

As part of this transformation, we aim to innovate with a knowledge-rich curriculum, designed to personalise learning for every student, helping them to reach their potential.

We serve the local community and aim to give its children an excellent start in life by giving them a first-class education. As a smaller school we know all our students, their strengths and how to get the very best out of them.

We have won numerous awards as a school and we have been accredited with the prestigious IQM Award, in addition to being an IQM Centre of Excellence, which highlights that inclusion at all levels is of paramount importance to us. We are also proud to have been awarded Silver Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award.

The Outwood Family of Schools pride ourselves on fully supporting colleagues within the Family both professionally and personally.

We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

As a founding Trust of the National Institute of Education (NIoT), we will actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education and NIoT to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all teaching staff receiving a minimum of two hours of CPD each week.

We also offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits, including family friendly policies, enhanced occupational benefits available (such as maternity, adoption and parental leave) with no qualifying period, funded CPD for qualifications up to and including Masters level plus other exclusive benefits including a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy.

All academies within the Outwood Family have gained the IQM Inclusive Schools Award with 18 having Centre of Excellence status and one holding Flagship status.

If you share our vision, join our family.
