Hybrid working will be considered and flexibility is offered with regard either working on an all year-round basis or term time with some additional days for the right candidate.

Due to retirement, we are looking to recruit a highly experienced Finance Manager reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer to specialise in financial accounting.  

Finance is a hardworking team of eight staff delivering an outstanding financial service to our eight academies and is part of a wider central services team including HR, Payroll, ICT and Premises & Compliance. The central finance team is based at Shelley College, which is located within the beautiful surroundings of nearby Shelley village with panoramic views of Emley and the Holme Valley.

The ideal candidates will have:

  • the AAT qualification (advanced or Intermediate level) or equivalent;
  • substantial experience of preparing budgets or financial accounts in a large organisation;
  • the ability to interpret, advise and negotiate with managers on a diverse range of financial issues;
  • some experience of successfully managing a team; 
  • willingness as well as the ability to travel around the trust area on occasion (therefore a current driving licence is required).

Location

We are in located in the Huddersfield/Kirklees district, with many of our schools in close proximity to a number of towns and cities including Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield. Due to the excellent road links, journey times are minimal, with many of our staff travelling from these areas on a daily basis.
