Heartlands High School is an exciting and innovative new mixed secondary academy in the heart of Haringey next to Alexandra Palace. It is the first school of the Heartlands Community Trust and will sit at the heart of a growing multi academy trust. We instil the highest of expectations, developing leadership in children and young people, staff and governors, and ensuring accountability, a clear vision, transparency, fairness and consistency. Heartlands High School opened its doors to pupils only six years ago nevertheless our pupils’ performance is already close to the best in Haringey.

Over the next financial year we will strengthen and develop Heartlands High School systems and processes to ensure they are fit for supporting the growth of a multi academy trust. We are looking for a finance manager for the Heartlands High School with the right combination of personality, initiative and technical competence to shape the school’s finance function to meet the demands of the school and to be the centre of a growing multi academy trust.

Specific Responsibilities

· In conjunction with the Director of Finance and Business Development/School Business Manager development implement the Trust’s financial management strategy centrally and for academies.

· Establish, maintain and develop systems for budgeting, financial administration, cash flow forecasting and final accounts centrally and for Academies.

· In conjunction with other Trust, academy staff and contractors ensure that the finance system is developed and deployed effectively.

· Ensure the Trust board and local governing bodies receive timely, accurate and informative reports on the finances and financial prospects which ensure effective accountability and provide a robust basis for decision making.

· In conjunction with the Director of Finance and Business Development/School Business Manager implement financial policy and procedures centrally and for academies.

Support and development:

At Heartlands, we use School IP to track and support training and ongoing CPD. Depending on your need and level of experience, you will be placed on a training pathway.

The CPD plan is released in September each year and includes a range of internal training sessions before and after school as well as on inset days.
