The role

If you offer strong accounting and financial experience and management skills, this position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the financial management of one of London’s high performing independent girls’ day schools.

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the provision and maintenance of financial and accounting services. This will include the preparation of budgets, managing the school’s financial administration, monitoring expenditure and overseeing the management of the school’s purchase ordering and payments systems.

You will also be responsible for the management of the Finance Officers and Transport Manager, ensuring they have clear expectations of their role, and that high performance standards are achieved and maintained. In addition, the role will also manage the performance of outsourced contracts.

To be considered for this role, you will need a suitable accountancy/financial qualification, such as AAT or equivalent, with a good understanding of accounting software and experience of financial analysis and reporting. You will also need the ability to operate, monitor and maintain systems for effective budget management as well as the ability to analyse and present statistical information with confidence.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are as integral to this role as the financial elements, due to communication with parents and external clients. We welcome applications from candidates with experience in a commercial or education environment.

Finance team

The Finance Team is a key team based in the Senior School, it is responsible for both the Senior and Prep school’s financial systems and payroll operation. The Finance Manager reports to the Director of Finance and Operations, our aim is to achieve operational excellence to make systems as parent friendly as possible as well as achieving value for money and delivering quality services to our staff, students and parents.
