About English Martyrs' Catholic School, a Voluntary Academy

Welcome!

Thank you for looking us up and for your interest in working at English Martyrs.  We hope that you will find the information you need here but if we’ve left anything out, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

At this school we are determined to give each child a fantastic education in the fullest sense, and as such we place great store on recruiting only the best teachers for them.  Our staff are a very cohesive and happy group who are mutually supportive both personally and professionally.  Our teachers make a tremendous commitment to the mission and vision of the school and work together to provide the best possible teaching and learning plus an exciting extra-curricular life for the children.  In doing so we have fun too and staff here regularly take part in cooking classes after school; book groups; choirs and even the occasional staff Pantomime in which the actors are the staff and the production is done by the students.

Our relationships with students are excellent and our lessons are characterised by real engagement and hard work.  Our campus is now an elegant, state of the art school, likened by many to be more like a university than a school in appearance, facilities and the pride and care that students take in their environment.  The facilities are tremendous and include a classroom for every teacher; a magnificent Library; great Sports facilities and a beautiful Auditorium in the St Cecilia’s Performing Arts Centre – come and see for yourself!

If you like the sound of all of this, we would love to meet you!

If you would like to make an informal visit prior to application, you will be warmly welcomed.  Alternatively, the relevant Curriculum Leader will be happy to talk to you by telephone.
