Capel Manor College is London’s only Specialist College for land-based studies and an internationally renowned learning resource for all those interested in Horticulture, Animal Management, Saddlery, Arboriculture, Floristry, Garden Design, Countryside and the Environment.

We are currently looking for a Finance Officer who will ensure the maintenance of efficient and effective financial controls and full compliance with College Financial Regulations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the Sales Ledgers are accurately maintained, are up to date, and are kept in accordance with College Financial Regulations and the standing procedures operated by the Finance Department
  • Coordinate workloads with the Finance Officer (Income) to ensure the prompt closure of the sales ledgers on a monthly basis and distribute aged debtor reports to colleagues and the debt collection company
  • To be the main contact person for customers, colleagues and the debt collection agency for the provision of financial and non-financial information within reporting timeframes and departmental service standards

 

The successful candidate will be a confident and self-motivated individual, with excellent communication skills at all levels. You will have fast and accurate data input skills and a demonstrable commitment to abiding to financial processes and maintaining service standards

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5 O’Levels or GCSEs, grades A-C, including Maths and English or a work experience training programme with substantial training in accounts
  • At least 2 years in an accounts/finance environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of sales ledger and routine accounting procedures
  • Demonstrable skills in the use of computerised accounting systems
  • Demonstrable knowledge of computers with excellent Microsoft Excel and Word computer skills

There may be occasions when the post-holder will be required to work weekends or evenings in support of major shows and events and main enrolments.

Your principal place of work will be the Enfield campus. On occasion you may be required to attend other Campuses within the College. You will work within the Finance and Student Admissions departments as directed by line management in response to workloads.
