We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our school. The role will primarily be to assist in the management of the school finances in accordance to Brisbane Catholic Education’s (BCEO) guidelines and procedures. Other office duties may be assigned, as appropriate.
The successful applicant will have some practical experience and competence in managing the accounts receivable and payable processes (including fees and budgeting) and using computerised accounting packages.
An understanding of Dynamics and BCEO financial procedures is desirable but not essential.
Experience and understanding bookkeeping skills would be beneficial.
The successful applicant will also be able to show initiative and demonstrate sound skills in negotiating and communicating with others.
Additionally, they will show an ability to successfully fulfil the role within a school environment with a commitment to working with school administration, students, staff and parents in a positive and productive manner.

- hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; and
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Position Tenure: Fixed Term
Weeks Worked: Up to 52 weeks per year including school holidays
Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term): 12 months
Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: School Officer Level 5 - $34.37 per hour
Employment Conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
