Job overview

 We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer with tertiary qualifications at certificate level or equivalent to join our team. You will demonstrate a high level of competency in finance and computer skills. Previous experience with Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Dynamics system is desirable. Under the direction of the Business Manager you will assist with the financial administration of the College.

Typical duties performed include, but not limited to:
School fees generation, Accounts Payable/Receivable, End of Month processing and General Ledger reconciliations. You must demonstrate well developed communication skills with a variety of stakeholders (staff, students and parents) and general inquiries.

The nature of the work requires a high level of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Saint Marys Catholic College is a Prep to Year 12 College offering families a co-educational pathway to life-long learning. The College has been proudly serving the families of the South Burnett region since 1990, following the amalgamation of the St Marys Parish Primary and Secondary Schools. It has a current enrolment of approximately 360 students. The College has a master planned school campus environment along with a vision for education in a contemporary world.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.


Estimated Start Date:
  Commencing Monday 22 March 2021

Position Tenure:   Continuing

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):  

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   38 hours per week plus some holiday work.

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   School Officer Level 4 - $31.44 per hour

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
