Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Finance Support Officer with an educational background to join our small friendly Finance team. A wide range of duties to include: order processing; preparation of invoices; receipt of income; recovery of debts; Parent Pay management and banking processes. 

This is a part-time, 22.5 hours per week, term-time only post covering three days per week (Wednesday to Friday inclusive). The post supports the Headteacher and the Business Manager. There is the potential to link this role to additional hours as Clerk to the Governors which would add the equivalent of 3 hours per week to the role. This would include a number of calendared evening meetings, usually on Thursdays, clerking for Governors’ and carrying out associated tasks. Clerking skills would also be advantageous and candidates interested in the additional role should indicate this accordingly on their application. 

The successful applicant will be a self-motivated, highly-organised team player, have strong financial and communication skills, demonstrate excellent attention to detail and ideally possess knowledge of finance systems. A CSBM or DSBM qualification would be desirable but not essential. 

The Salary Scale is the Local Authority's Grade 5 £18,319 - £19,819 pro rata. Actual starting salary will be approximately £9,817pa dependent upon experience. The clerking role would be in addition to this.
