Job overview

We are recruiting for an exceptional Financial Controller to lead the Finance function within the School. The successful candidate will be accountable to the Business Director and will take responsibility for Finance deliverables and activities. The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk and evaluating and managing risk, while aiding the school in maintaining positive revenue and financial growth. 

The successful candidate will have an accounting/finance qualification (preferably ACA, ACCA or CIMA) and will have excellent Microsoft Office skills and working knowledge of Sage/Xero or similar accounting software. Proven strong accounting experience and knowledge is of key importance to the role, particularly within large companies. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to influence decisions and influence change and will be calm under pressure.

The role is full time and permanent. There will be some flexibility with optional home working for 2 days a week. 

Sir William Perkins’s School is a high-performing, academically selective, independent girls’ school for approximately 600 students aged 11 – 18 years. The Head is both a member of HMC and GSA. It is located on an attractive 12- acre site situated on the outskirts of Chertsey, a two-minute walk from the railway station and very near to the junction of the M3 and M25.
