Financial Systems Accountant

Academies Enterprise Trust is the largest multi-academy trust (MAT) in the country with a national network of 63 primary, special and secondary academies across England. Under new leadership, with an entirely new executive team and new Trust Board members, AET is now a radically different organisation.  School improvement, governance and finance have been overhauled as part of a trust-wide programme to reform and renew AET and, as such, this is an exciting time to join the organisation.

This must be supported by efficient, rigorous financial control.   To help achieve this we are building a new central finance team, which means we are recruiting to a number of roles.

As our Financial Systems Accountant, you'll ensure the Trust maximises benefits of investments made in our Financial systems.  You will provide operational guidance to our academies to improve efficiency and to support month end processes. You will be the lead contact for our Finance System suppliers, to ensure quality and to resolve any short-term and ongoing issues with our systems, reporting or process improvement. 

You will have up to date technical financial system knowledge, able to communicate complex system and process issues to non–technical experts.   A team player, able to work with colleagues across the Trust.  You will be qualified by experience in finance and of using a variety of finance systems.

This position is required to commence as soon as possible and is fixed term in the first instance.
