ROLE SUMMARY:

Wetherby School is a thriving and highly successful non-selective, independent school in Notting Hill for boys aged 4 to 8. The school is heavily oversubscribed and extremely successful in securing pupils’ entry into the preparatory school of their choice.

Wetherby School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Floating Class Teacher to join the team from September 2026 on a part time basis (3 days a week). In this role, you will plan, prepare, and deliver an engaging and well-structured curriculum that meets the needs of all learners. You will create stimulating and supportive learning experiences, ensuring lessons are diverse, relevant, and appropriately differentiated.

 

Closing Date: 24th April. Interviews will be conducted on the 30th April.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct lessons in Years 1, 2 and 3 

  • Plan, prepare and implement the agreed school curriculum to cater for the needs of all children 

  • Provide well planned, engaging learning experiences and support for all learners and to deliver a diverse, relevant and differentiated (where appropriate) curriculum for all children in the class.

  • Provide a warm, friendly and supportive atmosphere that is conducive to the social and emotional needs of the children within the class.

  • Maintain discipline in accordance with school policies at all times and to encourage positive practise in relation to general behaviour

  • Create an engaging, stimulating and relevant learning environment through displays and classroom organisation.

  • Maintain cordial and informative relationships with parents.

  • Work as part of a team with the teachers and assistants within the assigned year group and the rest of the school staff.

About Our School

Wetherby School is based in Kensington and Chelsea, London. The independent pre-preparatory school admits boys aged 4-8. There are currently around 360 boys enrolled in the school, which occupies a listed townhouse.

It was founded in 1951 and moved to its current location in 1971.
