We wish to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Food Studies with the ability to teach across the age and ability range.  Food Studies plays a vital part in the secondary school curriculum and the subject is highly valued by parents and students at the school.  It is an extremely popular subject in which students achieve outstanding results.  The ability to teach technology or another subject would be desirable if the successful candidate wishes to work full time.

At present, the department teaches Food Studies to all KS3 students and Vocational Award Hospitality and Catering to students in Years 10 and 11.  There is a large practical component to all the teaching.

The Astley Cooper School is a part of the East Dacorum Co-operative Learning Trust, the school was graded Good by Ofsted in June 2016, and is becoming an increasingly popular and academically successful school.  Visits to the school or an informal conversation with the Headteacher before making an application are welcome. For further details and an application pack please see the school website or email Mrs L Dorey, PA to Headteacher,

Please note that we reserve the right to close this vacancy early should sufficient applications be received
