We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated colleague to teach Food at KS3 and Food and Nutrition at KS4 as well as having the opportunity to contribute to the vocational Hospitality course at KS4.   Applications are welcome from experienced and NQT teachers.

Food and Hospitality enjoys a high profile at St Katherine’s.  We are the only school in the UK to have a fine-dining restaurant, The Leaf at Ham Green, where students have access to an amazing on-site training kitchen.  The restaurant is managed by an award-winning former Chef and supported by a Chef Trainer.  Alongside The Leaf’s state-of-the-art industrial style kitchen students are taught in a domestic style teaching room in the DAT Faculty.

Candidates must be passionate about teaching and committed to improving the learning outcomes of all students, able to demonstrate the ability to deliver high quality teaching and inspire and motivate young people to achieve great outcomes.

We provide a high quality support package including a supported NQT Induction year, reduced timetable, teaching and learning coach and comprehensive staff development opportunities in partnership with North Somerset Teaching Alliance.

The Faculty of Design, Art and Technology is a successful and popular faculty with students of all abilities and makes a significant contribution to our wider aim of preparing students for future careers.  The successful candidate will be supported by a dedicated team that believes there are no limits to what a young person can achieve. You will also be joining a team who are engaged in their own learning and continually strive to develop their own practice and share with each other to improve our collective impact on young people.

St Katherine’s is a vibrant, medium sized 11 – 19 mixed comprehensive school and part of Cathedral Schools Trust.  We are situated on the edge of Bristol in a beautiful rural setting.  The majority of our students live in Bristol and due to the easy transport links, make a positive choice to travel out of the city each day to enjoy the wealth of opportunities that St Katherine’s has to offer. All at St Katherine’s believe that there are no limits to what a young person can achieve. Through focusing on high quality learning and teaching we work tirelessly to educate young people for academic success and life.
