Harris Academy Purley is an oversubscribed 11-19 co-educational Academy with currently 1000 students on roll, situated on the Croydon/Surrey border with excellent transport links to central London, the South Coast and Surrey. Open since September 2009, we are judged Outstanding by Ofsted. The Academy moved into a state-of-the-art new building in September 2012 with 21st-century facilities. The Academy is a happy, hard-working and highly ambitious community in which students and staff treat one another with care and respect. It combines traditional values of discipline and good-manners with contemporary best practice in teaching and technology.
 
We are looking for an enthusiastic Technician to support our Food Technology department. 

Duties will include:

  • preparing ingredients and materials as directed and clearing away equipment, including machines;
  • assisting teaching staff and students during lessons as directed;
  • ensuring safe storage and transit of resources; 
  • stock taking, ordering stores;
  • assisting staff with demonstration lessons and practicals;
  • overseeing specialised teaching and preparation areas,
  • helping maintain a healthy, safe and productive environment in the Academy’s prep room and food technology facilities.
  • undertaking other admin duties across the Academy as required

What we are looking for:

Candidates should be energetic, excellent team players, keen to learn, and able to work under pressure and to deadlines. You should have good literacy and numeracy skills and be committed to contributing to the overall ethos and aims of the Academy. Experience is desirable.

Harris Academy Purley is a co-educational 11-18 Academy for 1,100 students which opened in September 2009, with a £20 million new building opening in September 2012. Harris Purley offers specialisms in Enterprise and Sport using its extensive playing fields.
