Hours -  37.5 hours per week

Salary -  £27,242.00 with annual increments

Location -  Inscape House School, Cheadle, Stockport

Reporting to -  Relevant Deputy Head

Inscape House School is a non-maintained ASC specialist day school for children and young people aged 5 to 19 years. It is part of the Together Trust, a charity that has been providing care, education and support in the North West of England since 1870. The post holder will be a member of the Inscape House School or Post 16 department on the Cheadle campus. 

We are looking to recruit a Food Technology Teacher to support our KS2, KS3 and Champions and Explorers cohort adapting teaching to the needs of pupils with Autistic Spectrum Conditions. 

What can you bring to our classroom….?

We are seeking an individual with high expectations that inspire, motivate and challenge both academically and socially, creating a safe and stimulating learning environment for pupils, rooted in mutual respect taking into account pupils’ sensory needs.

This role requires working with Educational Assistants (EA’s) to facilitate learning, ensuring all support positively impacts on the development of every pupil’s independence.

An essential part of this role is a secure knowledge of the Food Technology curriculum and an understanding of the National Curriculum and the demands it places on children with additional needs.

There is a requirement for occasional attendance at evening meetings, course attendance, and home visits outside normal school hours. Normal arrangements regarding school holidays apply.

An essential of this role is to have Qualified Teacher Status with a primary or secondary teaching qualification. If qualified to secondary, subject specialism should be relevant.

Do you have experience of working with children who have autism and communication difficulties co-morbid with learning difficulties, ADHD, Mental health and/or sensory processing issues? Can you display successful experience of working with pupils displaying challenging behaviour?
