Job overview
Woodfield School is looking to employ a Food Tech Technician to provide support to all classes in delivering their individualised Food Tech program.
The main functions of the role include:
1. To maintain Food Technology department resources and keep a record of stocks.
2. To order materials and equipment via normal school procedure, as required and authorised by the teacher.
3. To prepare materials for specific Food Tech lessons, as directed by the Deputy Headteacher, using the appropriate equipment. This will include keeping the food pantry in order and assisting with the cleanliness of sinks, cookers and units.
4. To carry out daily tasks as directed by teaching staff.
5. To ensure each teaching room is tidy and clean, including the cleaning of sinks, draining boards and the tidying of bookshelves. To liaise with the caretaker or the cleaning supervisor if the standard of cleaning falls below an acceptable level.
Applicants for this role would ideally be able to demonstrate a knowledge of statutory health and safety requirements for school Food Technology departments.

Hours of work will be 8:15 am start every day with finish times as follows; Monday and Wednesday 4:30pm, Tuesday and Thursday 4:10pm, Friday 3:10 pm (36 hours per week), but will be subject to change from time to time, with notice. Breaks will be allocated accordingly. This is a term time only post.
