In this pivotal role, you will work with post 16, fostering a student-centred environment both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support: Engage with students to support their academic and personal development, ensuring their success both in education and in their transition to adulthood.
  • Programme Development: Collaborate with the Foundation Learning Team to enhance the third-year programme, focusing on equipping students with the skills necessary for successful work placements.
  • Activity Delivery: Create and deliver a range of activities designed to prepare students for employment and develop their employability skills.
  • Work Experience Coordination: Ensure all students have access to varied work experience placements, providing them with the practical skills and confidence needed for adulthood.

John Leggott College is a mixed, selective, non-denominational, general further education college situated in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. It is a 16-plus institution based on a single modern campus close to the town centre, with good access to surrounding rural areas. There are around 1,700 learners at the college, between the ages of 16-19, studying a range of academic and vocational courses.

The college was founded in 1958 as John Leggott Grammar School. The sixth form was established in 1968 in the midst of a Scunthorpe education reorganisation.
