Katherine Warington School is being established by the Harpenden Secondary Education Trust (HSET), a group comprising the three existing Harpenden secondary schools (Roundwood Park, Sir John Lawes and St George’s), Rothamsted Research Institute and the University of Hertfordshire.

The school is planned to grow to 900 students in years 7-11 with a 6th form of 250+ students in the longer term.

The school is being set up to meet the increased need for high quality secondary education in the Harpenden area, where all three existing secondary schools are oversubscribed with many students having to accept places outside the town.
