Founding PYP Coordinator

Cognita Schools is looking to appoint a full time founding PYP Coordinator from 1st September 2021 for one of its schools in Madrid.

The role

The PYP Coordinator is a member of the Senior Leadership Team who works closely with the academic team from 3 to 12 years old to support children in these age groups to become internationally minded individuals and exhibit the attributes of the IB Learner profile. They share this vision with all stakeholders, engaging parents effectively and acting as the pedagogical lead for the PYP at our school.

The ideal candidate will have an honours degree and an internationally recognised teaching qualification. A self-starter with a passion for all that the IB stands for and excited to drive the implementation of PYP at our school.

It's necessary to have at least 3 years IB teaching experience across the 3-to-12-year spectrum and to be an effective communicator in English and Spanish, ideally bilingual.

It’s a private mixed school that caters the educational needs of students from the Spanish and international communities in Madrid.

Children from birth to eighteen years of age are admitted to a complete and highly successful educational experience.

Though the majority of students are Spanish, numerous nationalities are represented in the student population.

Traditionally our students rank among the best of the students throughout the Spanish schools in Madrid, on external exams taken by those students. Accordingly, all graduates of the senior school go on to higher education.

Contract: Full time and permanent with remuneration and working conditions that reflect the Spanish national collective bargaining agreement for private education.
