We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced French Language Assistant (Senior School). This role is part-time (0.6), fixed-term (16 August 2021 - 9 December, 2021).

Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with oral practice at designated year levels
  • Monitoring and recording student progress accurately and comprehensively
  • Collaborating with French teaching staff to promote and support curriculum consolidation
  • Providing constructive and appropriate feedback to students
  • Adapting content and materials to personalise learning enabling enhancement and extension for all
  • Keeping abreast of curriculum developments, especially the VCE Study Design
  • Preparing students for the VCE oral exam.

The successful applicant will have expertise and experience in supporting French language learning, particularly oral language. Experience teaching French across Years 7 to 12 is essential as is French fluency. Collaborative and conscientious, you will be patient and relationship-oriented, with excellent communication and time-management skills.

About Ruyton Girls' School

Ruyton Girls School was established in 1878 and stands firmly on a proud history. The school is non-denominational and is located in the inner-suburbs of Melbourne. Ruyton, as the school is commonly known, is renowned for its academic excellence. The school has an enrolment of approximately 850 pupils and caters for girls from Preparatory to Year 12. The school is staffed by about 120 teaching and support staff. 

Ruyton Girls’ School is consistently placed in the top 10 academic performing schools in Melbourne. The school often ranks in the top 10 for VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) results.
