Syon Manor College is a new post-16 provision for young people with autism and complex needs. The college will offer a broad curriculum of academic, vocational and life skills learning including BTECs, GCSEs, Functional Skills and ASDAN accreditations which will work towards Employability or Independence and Duke of Edinburgh qualifications. 

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to children, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.

About this role

Syon Manor is a new provision delivering a broad and exciting curriculum to post 16 students who are from the neuro diverse, specifically Autistic Community. Students with Autism need but often struggle in either or both of these subjects due to how we as Society use both English and Maths on a daily basis. This post offers an appropriate candidate the opportunity to teach a cohort of students whose learning styles are wide, varied and often complex. The post will also offer the candidate the opportunity to work with subject specific industry companies to support students with work related learning opportunities for those with a particular aptitude in either subject.

Job Role

  • To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students in English and/or Maths
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • To contribute to maximising standards of student attainment
  • To share and support the Colleges’ responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth

Essential Qualifications

  • Relevant degree level 5 qualification or willingness to achieve
  • GSCE Maths and English (grades A – C) or equivalent
