Full time working 37.5 hours per week, 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, 33 days’ holiday which include public and bank holidays

Unlocking Potential is a charity that works within communities in London to unlock the potential of marginalised children and young adults to transform life chances.  Our mission is to support sustainable community transformation from an early age by investing in the younger members of the community.

We are currently looking to appoint a Functional Skills Teacher in our programme supporting 18-25 years.  The role will cover both Maths and English.  

The role will oversee the planning, delivery and quality assurance of all functional skills with the core programme and be responsible for developing a dynamic and personalised functional skills curriculum for all young people on the programme, capturing best practice and ensuring that all young people can successfully achieve their progress targets.

Applicants are required to be educated to degree standard, or equivalent, with qualified teacher status and demonstrable experience of teaching both Maths & English functional skills programmes from Entry Level to Level 2.  A proven understanding of special educational needs and evidence of successfully supporting young people to meet those needs and overcome challenges is required as well as a proven ability to inspire, motivate and lead people from different background and communities.
