―Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent (Level 2)

―Degree/relevant qualification in the subject area

―Outstanding teaching and communication skills and understanding of Ofsted framework

―Solution-focused and able to responding to data trends

―Assertive and confident in learning environment management

―Ambitious and committed to meeting targets, setting standards of behaviour and work

―Empathy towards the many challenges faced by young adults in a demographic with high free school meals rate and poverty levels

―Excellent communication skills

―Visual scripting/programming skills


Desirable Qualities / Skills:

―Experience with Adobe Photoshop/After Effects/Premiere – modelling, concept art/textures

―Experience of working professionally in a relevant creative industry/as an entrepreneur

―Experience with Autodesk Maya/Blender - animating, skinning, rigging, texturing, 3D modelling

―Experience with Unity/Unreal Engine - animation-to-engine pipelines

―Drawing and art skills


Key Tasks:

―Plan and deliver exciting lessons supporting learner progression, that relate to their needs and interests

―Promote safety, wellbeing and safeguarding (CPOMS)

―Record attendance and academic notes on Arbor MIS

―Track learner progression on the allocated Google Sheets

―Develop innovative opportunities for interdepartmental and intradepartmental project collaborations

―Use a range of assessment methods and provide outstanding and prompt feedback to inspire learners

―Complete learner one-to-one tutorials and individual learning plans on a bi-termly basis

―Facilitate the wide-range of enrichment trips and guest speaker events arranged across the year

―Work towards a stable learner retention and qualification achievement rate

―Undertake in-house training to remain up-to-date with awarding body expectations


―Support learners to prepare for their assessed end-of-year project


Salary and Days of Work

―18 hours across 5 days a week for 52 weeks per year

―Pro rata of 35 days of annual leave plus bank holiday

―This is a permanent part-time position

―Pro rata of qualified teacher annual salary £33,000 (actual salary £16,962)

―Pro rata of unqualified teacher annual salary £27,810 (actual salary £14,294)

―Start Date 19 Aug 2024
