Big Creative Training is a well-established and expanding training provider with a long track record of delivering positive outcomes for learners. Our mission is to improve the lives of young people through high quality training and creative industry experiences. We have more than 200 young people going through our vocational study programmes per year and they all take qualifications in maths and English.

We are looking for an outstanding gaming and media curriculum manager to join our dedicated team based in Walthamstow, East London. The successful candidate will have maths and English at GCSE grade “C” or above and be a fully qualified, experienced teacher with evidence of outstanding practice in a similar setting.

Key tasks

  • Provide leadership for the curriculum area and ensure high quality provision meeting the requirements of study programme funding
  • Plan, deliver, assess and verify L2 and L3 qualifications on the gaming programmes
  • Plan and deliver exciting gaming lessons that support learner progression
  • Ensure learners are retained, achieve their qualifications and progress
  • Manage a staff team to ensure effective delivery of our gaming and media offer
  • Complete learner one to one tutorials and individual learning plans
  • Ensure the course has a wide range of enrichment including guest speakers and trips
  • Complete learner one to one tutorials and individual learning plans

Desired qualities

  • Proven track record of recent and ongoing industry experience and up to date knowledge of sector trends and developments, including entrepreneurial experience
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in Adobe Creative Cloud including Photoshop, Unity 3D v5 and basic scripting skills are essential to the role
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in Maya 2016 for 3D modeling and animation (desirable but not essential)
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in Final Cut Pro and / or Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects and / or Apple Motion (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience of internal verification
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant area
  • Experience of working with 16-19 year olds
  • Proven track record of supporting learners to be retained and to achieve
  • Committed to the progression of young people
  • Conscientious team player with a positive outlook and a keen eye for detail

Salary and days of work

  • This is a part time position 35 hours per week, teaching 21 hours per week
  • Salary £35000 per annum with 35 days holiday
