About the Position:

As a Humanities Teacher at ICS you will be responsible for delivering the English National Curriculum KS3 Geography or History syllabus to some of our Key Stage 3 and for the right candidate, the IGCSE syllabus to our KS4 students. You will be tracking their attainment and progress and planning to ensure all pupils make good progress whatever their start point. You will work alongside other colleagues from the Humanities Department and from the relevant Year Group teams.

This role offers you the unique opportunity to shape the development of our growing Humanities department, with the potential to add A-Levels in the near future. There may also be the opportunity for a Humanities Leader role for the correct candidate.

About ICS Branch 1, an English Curriculum School

International Community School Branch 1 is centrally located in the heart of Abu Dhabi Island. Branch 1 is entering into its 9th year. It began as a Primary school and is slowly expanding into a FS to Year 13 school, adding Secondary Year groups one a year; Year 12 was added in August 2022.

Our state of the art facilities opened in August 2021 and has everything a modern and well resourced school needs for 21st century learning.

Requirements:

Teachers should hold a Bachelor of Education Degree (or a Geography/History degree and PGCE or similar in Secondary education) with at least 2 years classroom teaching experience. Experience in an English National Curriculum School and of GCSE teaching is desirable.
