Rossendale School are looking to recruit an outstanding Teacher to join our Teaching team!

We are looking for an ambitious, energetic and committed teacher who will expand the learning experiences of our pupils. The successful candidate will be teaching and supporting our young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs.

Rossendale is a school catering for the needs of pupils who display social, emotional and mental health difficulties and whose learning disability may be affected by an Autism Spectrum Condition. All Pupils who attend Rossendale have an EHCP. The School provides education for young people aged from 7 – 18 years of age.  At Keystage 4 we currently offer up to 11 GCSE subjects (including Maths and Statistics), iGCSE in Further Maths, BTEC Awards in 4 subjects, plus 3 Functional Skills and Entry Level in 5 subject areas.  Given the disrupted nature of our pupils’ education, prior to their admission to Rossendale, we have had some outstanding examination results.  The school admits both boys and girls, both on daily and residential placements.  

The post is required to primarily deliver the geography curriculum at KS3 and 4, and may be required to teach other subjects within the humanities department, the successful candidate will be expected to prepare and enter pupils for appropriate external examinations.  

The successful candidate will be expected to ensure that pupils’ special educational needs are being addressed, having due regard for the School's philosophy and policies.

Organisation – You will have experience of organising, planning and teaching well-structured lessons tailored to the needs of the pupils as well as monitoring each students learning needs, adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of each pupil.

Rossendale is a school catering for the needs of pupils whose learning disability may be affected by an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The School provides education for young people aged from 7 – 18 years of age. Our Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 are based on the main school site, whilst Key Stage 5 have a specialist sixth form building based in the local community. At Key Stage 4 and 5 we offer a wide range of GCSE subjects, BTEC Awards, Functional Skills, ASDAN and Entry Level qualifications. We currently want to expand A level courses at the sixth form provision. The school admits boys and girls on both daily and residential placements.
