Geography Teacher Full Time Permanent  

  • We are seeking to appoint a teacher who: 
  • Has real enthusiasm for their subject and a commitment to teaching Geography  
  • Teaches engaging and challenging lessons that promote students’ abilities to learn independently and to respond effectively to feedback 
  • Believes that Geography has an important role to play in the development of     students’ skills, knowledge and understanding 
  • Is able to contribute to the Geography team and take an active part in curriculum planning and preparation 
  • Is passionate about global education and keen to embed themes such as sustainability, community and social justice within our Geography and wider school curriculum 
  • Is able to instill in students a love of Geography  
  • Recognises the value of learning beyond the classroom  in enhancing the understanding and experience of the world in which we live 
  • Is keen to work in a school which is held in high esteem by its parents and who want further to extend this reputation for excellence 

Geography has always been a very popular subject at Burton Borough School, with large numbers of students opting to study it at Key Stage 4.
