Are you an ambitious Geographer looking to join a dynamic and supportive department? If so, we want to hear from you.
Geography is an extremely popular subject at Kennet with 178 pupils in the current Year 10 and consistently strong numbers at A Level. The ability to teach Geography to Key Stage 4 is an essential requirement of this role and experience at Key Stage 5 is an advantage.
The department would provide excellent support to an NQT starting out in their career, or development opportunities for a more experienced colleague. We invest heavily in CPD and actively seek to develop our teachers through all stages in their careers.
Kennet is a highly oversubscribed and successful Academy: we were judged Outstanding by Ofsted in May 2016. Whilst our progress measures are impressive and we have accumulated a number of national awards, we are strong believers that ‘better never stops’.
We seek to recruit talented and dynamic teaching professionals who are:
- aspirational and keen to develop,
- passionate about education and their subject,
- committed to working as part of a team,
- willing to think creatively and take risks in the classroom,
- hard-working and well organised.
The school has a strong house system and we seek staff who are keen to contribute to the fuller life of the school. Further details about the school and this post are available on the school website: www.kennetschool.co.uk
Kennet School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment, including being subject to a full DBS check. To apply, please complete and submit the school application form. Further information is available on the school website at www.kennetschool.co.uk or by telephoning the school on 01635 862121.
Closing date: noon, Wednesday, 28 March 2018
Early applications are encouraged and we may choose to interview prior to the closing date.
