Job overview

We seek to appoint an exceptional classroom teacher of Geography to work as part of a friendly and committed department within an experienced and supportive Humanities faculty.  For certain categories of newly qualified staff, an Early Start scheme, which includes payments across the summer holidays and a well-established induction package, will be available.

This well-resourced and successful department is made up of 5 members of staff, one of whom is part time. There are 4 dedicated Geography classrooms, and with a sixth form of over 300 students, there will be an opportunity to teach Geography A Level for the appropriately qualified candidate.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, geographer and teacher with ambitions to progress.  The ability to teach another subject within Humanities is desirable but not essential.  We are interested to hear from both NQTs and experienced teachers.

With direct links to the Billericay Educational Consortium, Billericay School is renowned for the high standards of CPD it delivers, as well as the collaborative and supportive ethos it promotes amongst staff.

Our Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.  The post is subject to satisfactory medical checks, enhanced DBS clearance and references.

Closing date:  Friday 6 May @ midday Interviews:  Week commencing 16 May
