The school seeks to appoint a fluent German speaker to join the Modern Languages department as a German Language Assistant from September 2019.

The German Assistant is responsible for preparing our sixth form German students for the speaking component of the CAIE Pre-U exam (A Level equivalent). Weekly classes in small groups are conducted entirely in German. The successful candidate, who will be a graduate with a good degree from a university in the German-speaking world, will also be called upon to provide classroom cover in the German department and undertake other duties as requested (e.g. helping to prepare pupils for recitation competitions, language activities, clubs or revision clinics, accompanying trips, etc.). As we are a full boarding school, we teach on a Saturday morning.

Situated in Hampshire, Winchester College is an independent, secondary school for pupils aged between 13 and 18. The school was founded in 1382 by the Bishop of Winchester, William of Wykeham. It was expanded in the 19th Century to accommodate the popular demand in the local society. At the moment, there are over 700 pupils enrolled at the boarding school.
