Thuringia International School (ThIS) in central Germany seeks a German teacher to work with students aged 11-18 beginning in October, 2016. Teaching responsibilities include preparing students for IGCSE (Cambridge) and IB Diploma exams. The position is based on a 2-year contract (until July 2016) renewable by mutual agreement.

The school is set in the beautiful town of Weimar and provides an international experience for 300 children of expatriates as well as German nationals. The city has a remarkable literary heritage having been the home for Goethe, Schiller and many German idealists. The school will provide full support to the selected teacher with travel to Weimar, a settling-in bonus, and help with finding accommodation.

The successful candidate will be qualified with a degree and teaching certificate related to teaching German, and with at least 3 years teaching experience. Ideally they will have previously worked with the IB Diploma Program, although this is not essential. They will be a native-German speaker with a good level of English, so as to participate in school culture. They will be able to demonstrate a commitment to international values and an ability to work in a flexible and collaborative manner. The teacher may be asked to teach one class in another subject.
