0.7 Part-Time Teacher of Global Politics and International Relations for September 2021

We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Politics Teacher to inspire, support, and challenge our culturally diverse students. An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to teach Global Politics for our IB cohort and continue to develop the subject of International Relations for our University Foundation Programme. We are looking for a Teacher who can harness the international contexts of our classrooms and offer an inclusive environment for students to engage in dialogue and develop their academic skills. The ability to teach an additional subject (History or Sociology) and lead on or contribute to our thriving Model United Nations calendar would be an advantage.

For September 2021, we are looking for a person who has:

  • Interest in and knowledge of modern history and international current affairs;
  • A proven record of excellent and reflective classroom practice;
  • Responsive teaching strategies that incorporate high-quality feedback and a focus on literacy;
  • Enthusiasm for continued professional learning.

We are happy to consider newly qualified or experienced Teachers.

The Worthgate School offers an outstanding international pre-university educational experience to students aged 14+ from all over the world. Students live and study onsite in the heart of the city of Canterbury, studying for GCSEs, A levels, IB and University Foundation Programmes, and preparing for admission to universities across the country and elsewhere. We pride ourselves on our approach to teaching and learning, with small class sizes and an informal atmosphere ensuring that students are treated as individuals and build great relationships with staff.

We are accredited by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, an organisation which assesses independent schools in the UK. The college achieved the highest rating in its ISI inspection (March 2019) and was rated ‘fully compliant’ in all areas covering boarding, welfare, achievement and results, curriculum, extra activities, pastoral care, leadership and teaching.

We take student welfare very seriously, providing comfortable, safe and secure en-suite boarding accommodation. Our friendly house staff provide a home from home, looking after our students whilst encouraging them to become confident and independent. The wide range of nationalities and cultures represented at our College reflects our aim of developing our students into ‘Global Citizens’ who treat one another with respect and tolerance.

The Worthgate School is part of the CATS Global Schools Group. CATS Global Schools is a leading provider of pre-university academic courses and English language courses in the UK. We provide programmes including A Level, IB and University Foundation, as well as English Language Study, to a growing number of international students seeking to win places at UK universities.  We operate a number of different educational brands: CATS College Cambridge, The Worthgate School in Canterbury and Guildhouse in London; CATS Academy in Boston; Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts (CSVPA) and Stafford House English language schools and study holidays.
