Are you an experienced golf course greenkeeper or do you have experience working as a sports grounds person? Would like to use your skills and knowledge to help shape the future of the industry? If so, this could be the role for you.

Capel Manor College has an exciting opportunity for a Golf Greenkeeper/Sports Turf Trainer & Assessor to join our apprenticeship team.

We are looking for an industry professional with experience of golf greenkeeping or sports turf maintenance to work with our apprentices and their employers. The College offers a range of apprenticeships in Golf Greenkeeping and we now require an industry expert to support apprentices with topics such as presenting and maintaining sports surfaces, renovating and repairing sports surfaces, using and maintaining sports turf machines and equipment and monitoring and maintaining health and safety.

You will be responsible for mentoring, coaching and assessing Golf Greenkeeper/Sports Turf apprentices. You will prepare and deliver workshops, including the preparation of learning materials, conduct workplace visits and reviews and write progress reviews.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for greenkeeping and sports turf maintenance, be enthusiastic to share this with others and they will have the ability to inspire apprentices of all abilities. Ideally they will have contacts within the industry and a willingness to develop new apprenticeship opportunities amongst employers and help us realise our ambitious plans to become the leading provider of this programme nationwide.

Being an assessor/tutor is a rewarding career. Not only does it provide the opportunity to pass on your skills to the next generation, but it also provides excellent financial incentives and benefits package, as well as the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative and beautiful land-based environment. No formal teaching experience is required and full training is provided.

In order to be considered for the position, an application form must be completed. CVs will not be accepted. For further details and to apply, please visit the job vacancies section on the Capel Manor College website.
