Job overview

We're Liberty Academy Trust, and we have an opportunity for a dedicated and organised administrator to join our Central team as part-time Governance Coordinator. You'll have experience of similar work (it would be great if you've worked in a school environment before); you'll have excellent attention to detail, and a proactive and collaborative approach to working with diverse stakeholders.

The purpose of the role is to support our valued volunteers who provide independent, non-professional assurance to the Board of Trustees. These volunteers play a vital role in our mission to deliver exceptional education, often enriching our school communities with lived experience and deep commitment. You'll work closely with our Director of Governance, our Board of Trustees, our school Principals and our Committee members - fostering strong partnerships and ensuring smooth coordination across our network.

The role is 0.5 of full-time equivalent - 17.5 hours per week, on average. However, there will be some flexibility (including some twilight working) in when these hours are worked, to meet the needs of our committees and governance arrangements. You’ll be based at home, with the possibility of occasional travel to each of our schools.

Our success depends on our skilled and dedicated staff. We offer a competitive salary and pension, as well as a focus on staff well-being and a range of additional benefits. More importantly, we offer the opportunity to play a part in highly rewarding work, as part of an ambitious and supportive team.

An education charity established in 2022, we are currently a small Trust of three academies, with plans to grow so that our reach and impact can extend further. Committed to providing an excellent education for autistic children and young people, our approach is to support the whole child, offering a balance of personalised teaching and therapeutic support as standard.

We’re dedicated to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. We encourage applications from anyone who is suitably qualified and experienced - including those with protected characteristics, and particularly welcome from neurodivergent individuals. We are very happy to discuss adjustments to the recruitment process for those that need it.

To apply, please submit your completed profile along with a cover letter telling us why you are applying and, with reference to the person specification, what skills and qualities you think make you a suitable candidate. Please note we cannot consider applications from candidates not legally entitled to work in the UK.
